Brittingham’s in Lafayette Hill to wait until green phase to reopen

Restaurants and bars will likely be allowed to start offering outdoor dining on June 5th as Montgomery County is expected to move from the red phase to the yellow phase of the governor’s reopening plan.

Not every restaurant is planning to take advantage of the lifting of some of the restrictions put in place due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Brittingham’s in Lafayette Hill announced today that it won’t reopen for outdoor dining allowed in the yellow phase. It will wait to reopen until Montgomery County reached the less restrictive green phase. Below is the statement from Brittingham’s Facebook page:

We very much appreciate those who have reached out to check on us and our staff. We are all anxiously anticipating the opportunity to safely serve you and your family at Brittingham’s once again!! With Governor Wolf’s next upgrade to the “yellow phase” effective June 5th, many have been inquiring about a re-open date. Taking into consideration the many restrictions of the yellow phase and the simple fact that outside dining will be hinging largely upon weather, we feel it best to re-open once the “green phase” is implemented. The “green phase” enables the use of limited indoor space which will help us accommodate guests regardless of inclement weather. We feel this option gives us the opportunity to bring back as many staff members as possible and provides them the best chance to earn much needed wages and tips.

We know there will be many challenges with re-opening as we have been tackling many of them since our doors have been closed. We have painted and sealed all wood surfaces throughout the building. We had a deep-cleaning and sanitizing of the entire facility and have another scheduled prior to re-open. We will have our landscapers and exterior cleaners out over the next couple of weeks to ensure Brittingham’s is 100% ready for your return. Please check with us on Facebook and Instagram as we will be updating you frequently leading up to the re-open date. Thank you for your patience during these trying times, we will see you soon!!

Brittingham’s initially offered curbside pickup at the beginning of the pandemic, but then decided to close until the restrictions were lifted.
