Car owners won’t be billed if towed from East Elm and East Hector streets during paving

PennDOT recently started a milling and paving project along East Elm and East Hector streets between Fayette Street and Cedar Grove and Barren Hill roads in the Borough of Conshohocken and Whitemarsh Township.

Signs were posted to not park in the work area and according to social media posts and sources, about five to seven cars have been relocated by a tow company to a nearby lot and not impounded.

So who pays for the tow? According to PennDOT, the car owner is not going to be billed. Below is a response from a PennDOT spokesperson when we inquired about the issue:

The “No Parking” signs were placed in advance to let the public know, and the police were informed about the resurfacing operation.

The cars were not impounded. They were relocated, and the car owners will not receive a bill.

The work is expected to take place through August 2nd.
