The car wash at 416 Ridge Pike in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township) is in the process of being sold to the Flagship chain of car washes that is expanding throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
The car wash at this location operated as Ridge Pike Car Wash for many years. The property was sold in 2022, according to county property records. A website at SpeedyCleanCar.com currently exists and uses the same address and states it is “coming soon.” However, a Flagship logo was recently added to the property’s Google listing.
The car wash has been closed and undergoing a transformation into a modern car wash for more than a year. The construction is nearly complete, according to a document included with the agenda (see page 65) for the October 5th meeting of Plymouth Township’s council.
The memo from the township’s planning and zoning officer to the township manager and council explains that 416 Ridge Property, LLC, the entity that purchased the property in 2022, was required to post financial security with the township to guarantee the completion of the required improvements that it accepted when approved. The memo goes on to provide details on the need for the council to adopt a resolution that would accept the “transfer of these responsibilities by acknowledging and accepting the Assignment Agreement between the seller and buyer and approving a new Letter of Credit from the purchaser to secure the completion of the remaining improvements.”
Flagship currently has 12 locations that are open or marked as “coming soon” in Pennsylvania. That does not yet include Conshohocken.
The property has been a car wash since approximately 1986, according to county property records. It operated under the name Ridge Pike Car Wash.
