Cases ticking up in Montgomery County. One death over first eight days of September

On September 8th, Montgomery County officials reported that there had been 347 positive cases of Coronavirus over the seven day period of September 2nd to September 8th (daily results below on chart). The total number of cases countywide since the start of the pandemic is 11,233.

During that period, one person was reported to have died due to a confirmed case of Coronavirus (9/4/2020). This is the only death in September. There have now been 828 deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic.

The PCR positivity rate as of September 4th is 3.17%. It has been slightly over 3% since the start of September. Having this number below 5% is considered having the virus under control.

In regards to hospitalizations, the state data hub shows that there are currently 42 patients hospitalized due to Coronavirus. Six patients require a ventilator. The 14-day average as of September 8th of available adult ICU beds is 133.4.
