Chick’s Tavern in Bridgeport has been sold to a not-yet-named party. Chick’s has been operated by the Chiccarine family since 1935. Bridgeport is in the early throes of revitalization. A restaurant and bar across the street underwent a major renovation and opened as Taphouse 23 and there are plans for a major townhome and apartment community along the riverfront. While the announcement from the restaurant doesn’t give a set date for it closing under the current ownership, a post on Facebook from the Times Herald says it will be about six weeks.
