Chip Roman Scaling Back Restaurant Empire That Started in Conshohocken

Michael Klein of the Philadelphia Inquirer published an article today about Chip Roman selling his Chestnut Hill restaurant, Mica, to Yianni Arhontoulis, the chef de cuisine at Blackfish in Conshohocken. The article also shares that Roman has sold his stake in Ela and closed Treetmont, both which were in Philadelphia.

Roman has basically consolidated his operation to Conshohocken, where he continues to operate Blackfish, Tradestone Confections, Tradestone Cafe (one location in Conshohocken and one location within an office building in West Conshohocken) and Roman Restaurant Group Catering. He also oversees the food and beverage program for a resort, Arenas del Mar, in Costa Rica.

In the Philadelphia Inquirer article, Roman shares that he is seeking a better balance of family and work life.

If you have never visited Blackfish, on Tuesday, August 2nd, the BYOB is offering a Tasting of Crawfish menu.
