Code Blue Extended Through January 8th

Baby, its cold outside. The Montgomery County Commissioners, on the advice of the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, have extended its Code Blue Declaration through noon on Monday, January 8th. From the declaration:

During this time, nighttime temperatures and/or wind chills are expected to be at or below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The Code Blue was declared Monday, Dec. 25, extended Dec. 29, and was set to expire 4 p.m. Tuesday.

A Code Blue Cold Weather Declaration is made in Montgomery County when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter. A Code Blue is called when the combination of air temperature and wind chill is anticipated to be 20 degrees Fahrenheit or less.
