Conshohocken Borough Council Considering Adding a Second Dog Park

During last night’s meeting of Conshohocken’s Borough Council adding a second dog park was discussed. If you have tried to use the existing dog park, you have probably determined that it hasn’t been a smashing success. When it was created, it was touted as a public-private partnership. Basically Kynetic got a helipad if it funded the creation of a dog park. A community group was supposed to operate the membership supported park, but that never really happened. It has pretty much been a disaster.

The failure of the current dog park was acknowledged at last night’s meeting. However, members of Borough Council expressed the desire to explore creating a second dog park at the bottom of West 7th Avenue, overlooking Sutcliffe Park. The Borough owns some land there (in the photo above the red area is generally the area discussed, we aren’t sure of the exact spot).

Back to the original dog park, we are going to have a separate article on the efforts of the Conshohocken Plymouth Whitemarsh Rotary to whip the park into shape and make it ADA compliant.
