NBC10’s Deanna Durante reported from the Conshohocken Italian Bakery on October 23rd as it prepares for its final bake on Sunday, October 27th (see menu and hours below). Earlier this month it was announced that the family-owned bakery was closing to allow the Gambone family to have more family time, and that the property had been sold. The new owner of the property has not been announced.
Durante interviewed members of the Gambone family, which has operated the bakery for 51 years, and talked to customers about what the bakery has meant to them.
A nearby business, East West Label, purchased a bunch of tomato pies from the bakery and dropped them off at other local businesses (Christina Wilson of East West Label is pictured at top).
