Conshohocken man arrested on drug charges

A 34-year-old Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township) man, Troy Gregory Nance, has been arrested on a host of drug charges following two traffic stops.

Court documents show that on February 24th, Nance was pulled over by a Pennsylvania State Trooper for an expired registration. Nance was found to have $9,000 on his person. He consented to a search of the vehicle, which led to the discovery of a 16 ounce bottle of Promethazine Hydrochloride, a small vial of Promethazine Hydrochloride, empty vials, and a bag of rubber bands. The cash and the items were seized.

Driving the same unregistered vehicle on March 10th, Nance was pulled over in Lower Merion by another Pennsylvania State Trooper for driving to closely to another vehicle. During this stop, Nance did not consent to a search of his vehicle.

The trooper called in another trooper with a narcotics detection K9, who detected the odor of narcotics. Nance was detained and his vehicle was towed from the scene. A search warrant was then obtained for the vehicle. The search was conducted that day and a one gallon Hawaiian Punch container was found to contain a brown liquid substance that tested positive for PCP (Phencyclidine). A Lipton Ice Tea bottle was also found to contain the same substance. Other items discovered were unused small glass jars and lids.

An additional search warrant was then obtained for a Nance’s storage unit in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township) and his apartment in Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township). The search of the storage unit found 119 bottles of an unknown purple liquid in a variety of flavors. It was suspected that the liquid was intended to be mixed with Promethazine Hydrochloride and Codeine syrup.

The search of the apartment found that there was a strong chemical odor. Seized were four, 32 ounce spray bottles and five, two-ounce “Five Hour Energy” containers. All were filled with a brown liquid and a field test was positive for PCP. Additonally found were a prescription liquid bottle labeled Promethazine SYP, three empty gallon-size Hawaiian Punch containers with suspected PCP residue, an apple juice jug containing suspected PCP residue, two 16 ounce bottles labeled Promethazine Hydrochloride, two digital electronic scales, a loaded 9MM magazine containing eight rounds, a box of ammunition, and additional bottles containing a purple liquid.

Nance was charged with three felonies for Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to
Manufacture or Deliver and the first degree felony of Deal In Proc Unl Act/Intent To Promote (dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity with intent to promote). There are also two lesser charges.

Bail for Nance was set at $99,000, which he was unable to post, and he is currently confined at the Montgomery County Prison. There was a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 18th, but we are told that it has been continued to a later day.
