A handful of firetrucks were dispatched to 3rd and Forest on Monday night when area residents smelled smoke and could not identify its source.  Fire Chief Stephen Phipps confirmed this morning that the smell was originating out of a backyard fire pit.

A Conshohockn husband-and-wife duo will be charged with simple assault after an argument over purchasing a coffin for a dead pet became violent.

West Conshohockenj special education law firm of Frankel & Kershenbaum sponsored and participated in Walk Now for Autism Speaks​ in Philadelphia. Frankel & Kershenbaum founding member, Dave Frankel​, served as the firm’s team leader and gathered a 15-person team including co-workers, Josh Kershenbaum and Maria Vetter, clients, family, and friends.

Conshohocken’s T. A. Bradley, author of “Lucifer’s Pommel,” just published his second book through Barren Hill Publishing and will be available through on Smashwords in eBook formats suitable for most popular e-readers.  The book, “13 Echoes”
is a 116 page book of short stories that will take you into a world where only the echoes of reality exist.

Conshohocken-native Todd Barnes has been named the new Strength and Conditioning Coach/Fitness Director of the Athletics and Recreation Department at Arcadia University.

Business News

Last week we linked to a story on Philly.com profiling the Conshohocken Cafe’s use of I-Pads and I-Pods as part of their POS system.  The story originated with local public relations executive Tony DeFazio, who places a premium on relationships and community, reaching out to his contacts at the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Justin Hawver of Conshohocken has joined MTI as a business analytics specialist. MTI is a pharmaceutical marketing company in Middletown.

As part of its continuing mission to keep firefighters worldwide safe and updated on the latest firefighting technology, Conshohocken-based Hale conducted two educational seminars in China in September. The training sessions highlighted the equipment and strategies used in high-rise fire fighting.

West Conshohocken-based Azelon Pharmaceuticals, formerly Zelos Therapeutics, raised $4.5 million in a private stock sale Tuesday.  The biopharmaceutical company also said it completed a company restructuring that includes additions to its management team.
