Conshohocken-Plymouth-Whitemarsh Rotary Club Donating Improvements to Schuylkill River Trail

On June 16th at 10:30 a.m., members of the Conshohocken-Plymouth-Whitemarsh Rotary Club will present to the Montgomery County Division of Parks, Trails & Historic Sites a much needed trail improvement. After many months of working closely together, the Rotarians, led by their President, Tom Cassidy, were able to fund four new trail bollards for the Schuylkill River Trail.

The bollards will be in places that have had safety concerns regarding vehicular traffic as the old welded gates at these locations were no longer serving their purpose at cross roads. The community donation of the four bollards will make a safer experience for the users of the trail.

The first bollard, placed at Ernest Station Road, is the most meaningful. The bollards are donated in the memory of Officer Brad Fox and this first bollard is within feet of his memorial. The official handover will be at this location. The Montgomery County Commissioners plan to officially dedicate and accept the bollards on June 16th.

Any group interested in continuing the start of this project and donating a bollard for the trail should contact Michelle Harris at (610) 666-5371.
