Conshohocken police announce arrest of three men for mail theft

On June 19th, the Conshohocken Police Department announced that it had arrested three men after allegedly tampering with a mailbox along the 400 block of Fayette Street and then attempting to flee when police attempted to stop them.

According to the press release, police officers observed the three individuals tampering with the mailbox, and a pedestrian who also witnessed the incident confirmed that they had successfully removed mail from the mailbox.

Police attempted to make a traffic stop of the vehicle used by the suspects; however, they fled the scene and entered the riverfront area, crossing the border into Whitemarsh Township. The vehicle became disabled near the Spring Mill Train Station, and the suspects hid along the river’s edge, where they were arrested.

The vehicle used was found to have been stolen in Philadelphia and contained a “large quantity of stolen mail.”

Arrested were 19-year-old Uwais Roane of Sharon Hill, 18-year-old Nyeem Miller of Philadelphia, and 19-year-old Arnold Kennedy of Philadelphia. The trio were arraigned and released on 10,000 unsecured bail.

Court records indicate that they have been charged with five felonies, including mail theft, as well as several lesser charges. They have a preliminary hearing on June 25th before Magisterial District Judge Dara Nasatir.
