A 27-year-old Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township) resident, Paul Grant Murray, has been charged in multiple jurisdictions for allegedly selling tickets to events, such as Philadelphia Eagles games and a Taylor Swift concert, and then failing to deliver the tickets, not providing a refund, and writing bad checks.
On July 29th, Murray was arrested and charged with several felonies and a misdemeanor involving the sale of tickets and bad checks in Hilltown Township in Bucks County. According to a report from LancasterOnline.com, these charges involved 10 victims and a total of $134,487. He was arraigned on August 15th, and bail was set at $250,000 unsecured. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 23rd.
The Manheim Township Police Department in Lancaster County stated that Murray was arrested on August 10th and charged with theft by deception. In the notice, the police stated that they received two reports from victims regarding the purchase of Eagles’ tickets, followed by a lack of a refund when the tickets were not provided. Murray was arraigned and released on $15,000 unsecured bail. His initial preliminary hearing was continued until September 17th.
In a notice, the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department, also in Lancaster County, stated it had received a fraud report involving Murray. This report involved Eagles tickets purchased from Murray for $4,400. The victim claimed not to have received the tickets and was provided a check from a closed account when a refund was requested. Murray was charged with theft-by-deception-false impression, a felony, and a misdemeanor of writing bad checks. In this case, the bail was set at $4,500 unsecured. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 17th.
