As MoreThanTheCurve.com reported on February 9th, the Borough of Conshohocken was considering creating a public-private partnership that would have Lumina, an apartment community located adjacent to where a dog park has been located for several years along the Schuylkill River, reconstruct and manage the dog park. The dog park, which had been owned and operated by the borough was destroyed during the 2021 flooding from the remanents of Hurricane Ida.

During a February 15th meeting, the members of the borough council voted to approve moving forward with a 10-year license agreement with Lumina. The deal is contingent on the borough’s administration finalizing the agreement. One thing that hadn’t been determined at the time of the February 15th was what the membership fee would be for the non-Lumina residents who would like to use the park. While the apartment complex would operate the park, it has to offer public access through a membership program.

No timeline was mentioned on when this could open.
