During the February 16th meeting of Conshohocken’s Borough Council, the council members voted 6-0 to approve a term sheet involving the purchase of four parcels bounded by East Elm Street, Fayette Street, Stoddard Street, and Harry Street. The four parcels surround but do not include The Outbound Station property. The vote was 6-0 because Karen Tutino (Ward 1) was absent.

The purchase price announced was $600,000 and the funds will come from the borough’s capital reserve fund. The borough and the seller will split the closing cost.

If the property is utilized for a park, the term sheet requires that the park be named for Raymond Weimann, Sr., whose estate is selling the property. Weinmann was one of the original developers in Conshohocken. He passed away in 2021.

The purchase will now go into a 30-day due diligence period.

During the meeting, there was no mention of the possibility of continuing with eminent domain to acquire The Outbound Station property. While the borough council voted during a previous meeting to advertise such an ordinance, the consideration of the ordinance was removed from the agenda prior to the February 16th meeting.
