Democrats endorse Mary Jo Daley and challenger drops out of race

That was quick. On January 23rd, MoreThanTheCurve.com reported that Jason Landau Goodman (pictured left) was running to represent Whitemarsh Township and a portion of the Main Line in Harrisburg as the state representative for the 148th District. On January 24th, he dropped out of the race after the Montgomery County Democratic Committee endorsed the longtime incumbent Mary Jo Daley (pictured right).

From Landau Goodman:

I am suspending my campaign for State Representative in the 148th District. The committee members have voted and I respect the endorsement process. I am sincerely grateful for all of the words of encouragement and support over the past month.

I will now shift my energy and focus to do all I can to help Rep. Daley and other Democrats across the state to win in November to strengthen our majority. I will also continue to be a fierce advocate for environmental protection, education, and civil rights here in the district, in Harrisburg, and across our commonwealth. I look forward to seeing you around soon.

Daley has represented the district for a decade and never faced a primary challenger on the ballot.
