Splash Hair Studio’s Elaine Travis is competing for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) title of Woman of the Year. Participants conduct fundraising campaigns and the candidates (there is a Man of the Year competition too) with the most votes are named the local chapter’s Man & Woman of the Year. Based on the success of their campaigns, the participants are then considered for the national titles.

Money raised will benefit LLS’ mission to cure blood cancers and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Winners will be announced at the Grand Finale at Vie on Thursday, April 25th. The event will be a celebration of all the candidates’ collective efforts as they enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions, and dinner and dancing. Last year, 12 candidates raised over $442,000.
