  4. There is a symposium at McColl Auditorium at St. Thomas’ Church in  Flourtown on Thursday, November 29th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. that will focus on the issue of development in local communities. There isn't an organization behind the event, it is organized by a few citizens concerned about development. From the event information: Over-development should be a major concern to all citizens and residential property owners. This is and issue that transcends political party affiliation. We all want more open & green space, parks, charming architecture in our communities & neighborhoods, preservation of historical spaces, environmental responsibility, better managed vehicular traffic and community input into changing zoning laws. Have you ever wondered why our local governments in Upper Dublin, Whitemarsh, Springfield and the rest of Montgomery County put such an emphasis on real estate development? What role do “Comprehensive Plans” play in development? Are you tired of the endless Township zoning and planning meetings? Can the structure of local government be changed? Can the system be changed to better reflect the desires of our communities? This symposium being held at St Thomas Church in Whitemarsh on November 29th will cover off on many of these topics that should concern us all as citizens. Please consider attending this event to learn how we all can be better stewards to our communities. A panel of experts and community leaders will present their insight and ideas. We will have lots of time for public input, questions, concerns. This will be a great learning experience for everyone! We have a Signup Genius and a FB Event that you can use to RSVP. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0e4baaa922a20-symposium https://www.facebook.com/events/486644188487015/ The event is open to residents of all municipalities.
