A longtime solicitor for the Borough of Conshohocken, Michael Savona, has been sentenced to 30 months probation for lying to federal investigators about his role in a bribery scheme in Lower Southampton Township (where he also served as solicitor).

Savona could have received up to six months in jail but received a reduced sentence due to cooperating with authorities (we wonder if that only involved the case in Lower Southampton).

Savona and his husband opened a restaurant, Sagamore Hill, in Portland, ME in June of 2018. The liquor license was revoked due to the charges against Savona. Eventually, he was removed from ownership and the restaurant was able to reopen.
