Chamberlain Hrdlicka, a law firm with offices in four cities in three states, recently announced that complex litigation and business attorney Ken Trujillo has joined the law firm as a shareholder. Trujillo will be based in the firm’s West Conshohocken office.
Trujillo is a former City Solicitor of Philadelphia and Assistant U.S. Attorney. In addition to his complex litigation practice, Trujillo will be responsible for growing the West Conshohocken office and will work closely with the Managing Shareholder on strategic direction.
Wayne A. Risoli, Managing Shareholder of Chamberlain Hrdlicka said, “Ken is one of the most accomplished and innovative lawyers in the Philadelphia region. He is recognized for finding and developing talent and for his wide range of legal, business, regulatory and government experience. We are pleased that he has joined Chamberlain Hrdlicka to help grow our northeast presence, and particularly excited about Ken’s proven ability to spearhead law firm growth with the addition of talented lawyers.”
Trujillo was recently the Co-Chair of the Host Committee for the 2016 Democratic National Convention. He has represented U.S. and foreign corporations and government entities, executives, lawyers, and other individuals with particular emphasis on contract disputes, securities, antitrust, and other regulatory issues. He counsels clients on regulatory matters and internal investigations, and has represented public officials and government entities, including city council members, mayors, governors, states, cities and Native American tribes in civil and criminal matters. Beyond his litigation experience, Trujillo has broad experience in the planning of large-scale projects ranging from sports stadiums to casinos.
“I’m thrilled to be joining a great law firm with a compelling business model,” said Trujillo. “This move demonstrates Chamberlain’s commitment to grow its Philadelphia regional presence. I look forward to being part of its dynamic growth.”
With Trujillo’s leadership, Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Philadelphia office will concentrate on expanding into a multi-disciplinary practice with a heavy focus on sophisticated specialty litigation. Chamberlain Hrdlicka has been named to the National Law Journal’s “Hot List” and is the only law firm in Pennsylvania with attorneys nationally ranked by Chambers & Partners in federal tax controversy.
Trujillo, a University of Pennsylvania Law School graduate and Adjunct Professor of Law at his alma mater, also served on President-elect Barack Obama’s Presidential Transition Team in 2008, and in 2003, he served as counsel to Gov. Ed Rendell’s Transition Team. Shortly after, Rendell appointed Trujillo to the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Inter-Governmental Cooperation Authority, the Board of Commissioners of the Delaware River Port Authority, and as a Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
