The shrimp tacos at Guppy’s Good Times were named the best tacos in last month’s Tacohocken. During Tacohocken, local restaurants featured a taco for seven days, and then during the Tacohocken bar crawl on May 13th. The winner was determined by how many tacos were sold over the seven days and a score determined by a panel of nine judges.
The winning shrimp tacos include grilled shrimp, avocado, jalapeno slaw, sriracha aioli, and queso fresco. They are currently on the menu for lunch and dinner.
A dollar from each taco sold was donated to the Colonial Neighborhood Council, which operates the local food bank and Meals on Wheels program.
Robin Gupta, the owner of Guppy’s, was presented a taco trophy on June 8th by Mike Sroka and Matt Donnelly of the Home Experts For You Real Estate Team, which sponsored the event. You can watch the presentation below.
