Here we go! Sean Green picks Eagles upset, plus all the games as post-season arrives

Last week I made the mistake of thinking the Cowboys were only going to play their starters for a quarter. Instead, they played the majority of the game and made my Eagles pick look really bad. I missed there, but overall my free NFL picks, went an impressive 10-6, hitting on my two locks and my moneyline dog of the Jacksonville Jaguars at +700 on WynnBET.

The Philadelphia Eagles square off against the Tampa Bay Bucs Sunday at 1 p.m., coming in as an 8.5 point underdog with a total set at 46.

Key Defensive Matchup

The Tampa Bay Bucs pass catchers have really been depleted with the recent departure of Antonio Brown and the season-ending injury to Chris Godwin. The two biggest threats offensively will be Chris Evans and Rob Gronkowski. Darrius Slay should be able to slow down Evans, however, but Gronk will be tough for the Eagles LB and safeties. I expect the Eagles to bracket Gronk when they can and even have Avonte Maddox help out on the big TE.

Key Offensive Matchup

Certainly, the Eagles will need Jalen Hurts to have a quality performance in order to succeed in this game. However, the biggest matchup as far as impact on the game will come from the Eagles tackles Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. Both are having great years but in particular, Johnson who got snubbed from the Pro Bowl and has a chip on his shoulder. Super Bowl Champion Chris Long recently said on my podcast that he’d “take Lane Johnson against anyone” and I agree.  With Lane paving the way, the Eagles should be able to move the ball.

Eagles Pick

When it comes to handicapping, you have to have your style and stick with it. My style is gut handicapping and my gut is telling me this Eagles team is completely different from the one that lost to the Bucs earlier in the year. The Eagles shock the world and pull out the outright victory and an easy cover, 28-24, over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Super Wild Card Weekend Picks

LVR AT CIN (-5.5) – Impressed the Raiders made it this far, but Derek Carr doesn’t do well in cold weather games and they run out of steam in Cincinnati. Bet the Bengals.

NE AT BUF (-4) – The Bills have figured out Mac Jones and Josh Allen is a man on a mission. The Bills offense will be too much for New England. Take the Bills.

SF (+3) AT DAL – The 49ers will be able to attack the middle of the field and Dak Prescott hasn’t been the same since his calf injury. SF will get the win.  49ers cover.

PIT AT KC (-13) – The spread seems high because the books need PIT action.  Don’t fall for the trap. KC rolls and covers.

ARI AT LAR (-4) – Kliff Kingsbury teams fall apart in the second half of seasons, both at the college and pro level and it’s no different here. Bet the Rams.

Pennsylvania Parlay

Eagles +8.5 parlayed with over 46.5 in the Steelers game is +265! So, a $10 bet Pennsylvanians watching both games returns $26.50.  Eagles expect to be a live dog down in Tampa and the underdog Steelers could find themselves racking up garbage points in a blowout.
