How to dispose of your Christmas tree

Wondering what to do with your Christmas tree? Below is a breakdown of what Conshohocken, West Conshohocken, Plymouth Township, and Whitemarsh Township offer in regards to tree disposal. You can also feed it to a goat or help restore sand dunes.

Conshohocken
The Borough of Conshohocken will begin Christmas tree pick up on Thursday, January 2, 2020. Christmas tree pick up will take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until all trees are collected. Residents must remove tree bags, all ornaments, lights and stands. The trees are collected, chipped and composted. If you would like to request your tree be picked up on a certain day you may call the Borough office at 610-828-1092.

Plymouth Township
Plymouth Township will start recycling Christmas Trees on Wednesday, January 8th Residents are asked to put their used Christmas trees out for collection as yard waste on any Wednesday. The Public Works Department will collect the trees and chip them. Remove all ornaments, lights, and stands. The wood chips are turned into mulch, which is free for the taking at the Public Works driveway at 700 Belvoir Road in Plymouth Meeting.

West Conshohocken
Christmas trees should be placed out on the normal trash collection day. You can even leave on the ornaments if you like.

Whitemarsh Township
Christmas trees may be disposed of as yard waste. All trees must be free of ornaments, stands, and other decorations. Yard waste will next be collected on Saturday, January 4th due to New Year’s Day falling on a Wednesday.
