IKEA forms partnership with the neighboring The Proving Grounds sports facility in Conshohocken

The lounge at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township) is getting a new look. Wayne-based BASE Sports Group announced on February 25th that it has secured a new partnership between The Proving Grounds and IKEA. The Proving Ground’s sports fields, which host tournaments involving a variety of sports throughout the year, are located just down the street from IKEA’s North American headquarters and Conshohocken store.

The partnership will have the furniture and decor retailer design and furnish a dedicated lounge space at The Proving Grounds. The space will be intended to create a welcoming area for families to relax between games. The lounge will feature Scandinavian-inspired furniture and décor that blends functionality with comfort, complete with interactive QR codes that allow visitors to access details, design ideas, and promotional offers.

“At IKEA, we believe in creating spaces that bring people together,” said Jonathan Dean, local marketing manager for IKEA U.S. “Our partnership with The Proving Grounds allows us to extend that philosophy beyond the home bringing design, comfort, and inspiration to families in the moments that matter most. Together, we’re transforming how communities gather and connect.”

“IKEA shares our belief that youth sports are about more than competition, they’re about connection,” said Proving Grounds owner and president, Paul Tornetta. “This partnership brings world-class design and intentional spaces to our campus, creating an experience that supports families in the moments they’re together.”

In addition, IKEA will have a presence throughout The Proving Grounds facility through branded signage, viewing-area placements, and directional installations that reflect the brand’s clean and modern aesthetic. Families will also have the opportunity to experience IKEA through on-site activations at select tournaments, connecting directly with the brand in a space that aligns with its mission of community, design, and accessibility.

“This is a perfect example of how we help brands activate in youth sports,” said Mark Dvoroznak, CEO of BASE Sports Group. “IKEA Conshohocken isn’t just gaining visibility, they’re contributing to the overall experience for families who spend their weekends here. It’s a partnership built on authenticity and shared values, showing how brands can make a meaningful impact where people live their lives.”
