Democrat Megan Griffin-Shelley (pictured center) won election as a Whitemarsh Township Supervisor in November and is set to be sworn into office in January.
Approximately a month after the November election, Griffin-Shelley announced she is running to replace State Representative Mary Jo Daley (D, HD 148), who represents Whitemarsh Township, Narberth, and part of Lower Merion in Harrisburg. Daley announced in October her intent not to seek reelection in 2026 and retire.
Griffin-Shelley is very familiar with the state house as her day job is chief of staff for State Representative Nancy Guenst, who represents the area around Hatboro.
In the Democratic Party primary for this state house race, Griffin-Shelley will face an environmental lawyer and civil rights advocate, Jason Landau Goodman (pictured left), and the outgoing mayor of Narberth, Andrea Deutsch (pictured right). There are no current Republican candidates that we could identify.
MoreThanTheCurve.com asked Griffin Shelley if she intended to be sworn in as a Whitemarsh Township Supervisor in January and received the following response:
Yes, I’m looking forward to being sworn in and getting to work to serve the residents of Whitemarsh!
The primary election is scheduled for May 12, 2026, and the general election is November 3, 2026.
