Kaede Sushi & Noodle Co., located at 2 Maple Street in Conshohocken, will celebrate its grand opening on October 15th. For its opening night, Kaede will offer free sake to all diners. Kaede is prounced “Kah-day.”
The sushi and noodle restaurant is located above Guppy’s Good Times. Guppy’s has long offered sushi and in 2023 Kooma Asian Fusion & Sushi Bar, which has locations in King of Prussia, Cherry Hill, and West Chester, began managing the sushi menu and service.
Rick and Gale Mahoney, who earlier this year purchased Guppy’s Good Times, expanded on an existing plan from previous owner Robin Gupta to utilize the upstairs space, and created Kaede in partnership with Kooma.
Kaede’s menu includes a variety of sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls, modern takes on classic stir-fried noodles, and a variety of appetizers. A selection of original cocktails, authentic sake, and wine complete the menu. You can view the menu here.
“As long-time patrons and business owners in Conshohocken, we have always loved the close-knit community infused with the creative energy that defines this one-of-a-kind town,” said Gale Mahoney. “We can’t wait to bring Kaede to the local dining scene, to offer an authentic Asian-fusion dining experience that is fun, affordable, and, most importantly, delicious!”
“Kaede will bring together the culinary talent, exceptional service, and contemporary take on Asian-fusion dishes that have made Kooma an area food destination to the heart of Conshocoken,” said Kat MacNeil, Kooma”s director of operations. “We look forward to introducing our fresh approach to sushi, noodles and stir-fry, and traditional entrees in a speakeasy-vibe setting to our new neighbors, from the sushi novice to the seasoned connoisseur.”
Rick and Gale Mahoney are both Conshohocken natives. Since 2023, the couple have invested heavily in Conshohocken’s restaurants, which has included purchasing Pizza Time/Old Time Saloon, followed by Guppy’s, and more recently Tony & Joe’s Pizzeria.
Kaede has nine tables plus a six-seat sushi bar. It will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8:30 p.m.
