Lane Closures on Fayette Street from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from March 25th to 29th

Your morning commute is going to be a little longer next week. PennDOT has announced that there will be lane closures on Fayette Street at 3rd Avenue in Conshohocken from Monday, March 25th through Friday, March 29th from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for traffic signal installation.

PennDOT advises that motorists allow extra time when traveling through the work zone because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.

PennDOT offered details on the overall project:

As part of this project, crews are working to improve safety and traffic flow at 10 intersections along Fayette Street between Elm Street and 11th Avenue. The scope of work includes installing new signal controllers, mast arms, video detection, emergency pre-emption equipment, pedestrian signal heads, and push buttons; and building ADA curb ramps. The improvements will improve the efficiency of the signal operation, and maximize the green time allocation for each signal phase based upon actual traffic demand.

The entire project is scheduled to be completed in summer 2020.
