Below is MoreThanTheCurve.com’s annual roundup of the restaurants planning to open and where restaurant spaces are vacant in Conshohocken, West Conshohocken, Plymouth Meeting, and Lafayette Hill.
Angelo’s Baking Co./Former Conshohocken Bakery – 79 Jones Street in Conshohocken
The big food-related news in Conshohocken was the closure of the Conshohocken Italian Bakery and the sale of the property to Angelo’s Baking Company, an entity associated with Angelo’s Pizzeria in South Philadephia, which is undertaking an expansion. Currently, Angelo’s is only baking bread for its internal needs, with the details and timing of having its bread (along with pizzas and cheesesteaks) available to the public still unknown. Former Ashley’s Deli/Lenny’s Deli space – 901 Fayette Street, Conshohocken
Ashley’s Deli closed in 2023, and the space has since been vacant. Next door, in the same building, is a vacant spa space. The property changed hands in 2023 and is owned by an entity associated with the owners of Jasper’s Backyard.
The Plymouth Meeting Mall in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township)
There are three vacant restaurant spaces: Bertucci’s (with an outdoor patio), Zoup Soup, and Real Fruit Bubble Tea.
Former Carol’s Place Space – 201 West 6th Avenue in Conshohocken
The ownership of the property that was Carol’s Place is seeking to construct an outdoor patio, which requires zoning relief due to a requirement for off-street parking. One zoning hearing has been held thus far, and it has continued to a future date. The name of the restaurant has also not been announced. The concept is a wine bar with light bites.
Former Conshohocken Oyster House – 128 Fayette Street, Conshohocken
This space has been leased, and work is taking place inside. We hear it is going to be an Italian restaurant. No word on an opening date.
Former Viggiano’s – 16 East Fayette Street, Conshohocken
This space is available for lease.
Former Old Mansion House – 641 Old Elm Street in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township)
The new property owner sought and received zoning relief to construct a deck on the rear of the building. That deck has not yet been constructed. There has been recent activity within the building, and the Montgomery County Department of Health inspected it. So things look to be moving forward, but no opening date has been announced.
During the zoning relief hearing, the restaurant was described as having 45 seats inside on the first floor (15-seat bar with 30 table seats), with 40 more seats on the deck. The restaurant will serve regional Italian fare and have a brick oven for pizza.
Wine Garden/Pickleball Venue at 127 East Elm Street in Conshohocken
Pieri Vineyard & Winery, a sister business to Bar Lucca, Bar Sera, and the StoneRose, along with Pieri Farm, is opening a wine garden with two pickleball courts. Look for a spring/summer opening. The name has not yet been announced.
Royal Farms – 906 Ridge Pike in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township)
Royal Farms, a gas station known for its fried chicken, is opening a location along Ridge Pike. It is approved, but construction has not yet started.
Former Ruby Tuesdays – 2053 Chemical Road, Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township)
Ruby’s Tuesdays closed in May 2024. We can not find any listing to lease the restaurant, which is adjacent to a hotel.
Uno’s Pizzeria – 1009 Ridge Pike, Conshohocken (Plymouth Township)
Uno’s closed in October 2024. The contents of the building were auctioned off. There is a sign in front of the building that says it is available to lease.
Westside Bar & Grill and Catch 101 in West Conshohocken
We combined these two spaces because both have the same ownership, which also owns Jasper’s Backyard in Conshohocken and the recently opened The Fort in Fort Washington. The Westside property falls within a mixed-use redevelopment plan involving several properties along Front Street. While there was one presentation about a proposed residential tower that involved a rooftop restaurant, nothing official has been submitted for consideration.
The Metroplex in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township)
The Metroplex received zoning relief in 2023 to construct an 8,000-square-foot building near Guitar Center, which would likely be a restaurant. So far, nothing has happened to move forward publicly about this.
Conshohocken Ridge Corporate Center in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township)
BET Investments is seeking to redevelop a portion of the corporate campus with a grocery store and apartments. It has been hinted that the grocery store would be a Trader Joe’s or similar concept.
Federal Donuts at Plymouth Square Shopping Center in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township)
Earlier this year, Federal Donuts & Chicken announced it is opening a location within the Plymouth Square Shopping Center in Conshohocken. The opening is part of a larger franchise plan, which has thus far opened a location in Radnor. No word on a projected opening.
Former Whitemarsh Valley Inn – 474 Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill (Whitemarsh Township)
Over the summer of 2024, MoreThanTheCurve.com reported that an Asian fusion restaurant had leased the space. We haven’t obtained any details beyond that.
Former Tricycle Cafe at 1 Station Avenue in Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township)
The cafe recently permanently closed but is available for events.
