It is leaf collection season. Below are the details on leaf collection in the Borough of Conshohocken, Whitemarsh Township, Borough of West Conshohocken, and Plymouth Township.
Borough of Conshohocken
The Borough of Conshohocken’s fall leaf-vac collection will begin on Wednesday, November 4th. Leaves will be collected on the following schedule (view).
There are a few rules for the collection of leaves:
- Leaf piles may extend along the length of your entire property. Please rake your piles to the curb, but not into the street.
- Do not mix limbs, brush, and other debris in the leaf piles. This may damage equipment and injure employees.
- Leaves will not be collected in the trash. Trash with leaves commingled will not be collected.
- Leaf collection is limited on East Hector and Elm Streets due to the narrow roads, high traffic volume, one-way traffic, and collection equipment. Public Services will make every effort to collect these roads; however, residents on these blocks should plan to bag their leaves and place them curbside for pickup on Wednesdays with yard waste collection.
- Yard waste collection will still occur on Wednesdays throughout the Borough.
Whitemarsh Township
Whitemarsh Township’s leaf collection program kicked off on October 26th and runs through December 11th. The township reminds residents to remove portable basketball hoops, hockey nets, and other obstructions from streets.
- Township employees and equipment will not access private property for collection. All leaves must be placed at edge of roadway or within the public right of way.
- Keep stormwater drains, inlets, roadways, and sidewalks free from leaf piles. Please leave a 4 – 5” space between the leaves and the curb to allow for water flow in case of rain.
- Keep trees trimmed to 12 feet above the edge of the pavement and remove any obstacles or recreational equipment that would prevent safe passage of collection trucks and equipment.
- DO NOT place limbs, brush, or other debris in leaf piles. These materials can damage collection equipment and injure Township personnel. Mixed piles will not be collected.
- Do not park on piles of leaves, preventing collection and posing a fire hazard.
- Do not allow children to play in leaf piles in the roadway.
- In the event of winter weather leaf collection will not occur and will resume once the weather permits.
- Residents are responsible for their own leaf removal after the Township Leaf Collection program ends on December 11, 2026.
