Man found guilty of First-Degree Murder for killing girlfriend in West Conshohocken

Montgomery District Attorney Kevin Steele has announced that the jury found Michael Dutkiewicz guilty of First-Degree Murder and Possessing an Instrument of Crime for the May 18, 2025, killing of his girlfriend, 25-year-old West Conshohocken resident Alyssa Wiest. The murder took place outside Wiest’s home on Moorehead Avenue in West Conshohocken.

Dutkiewicz did not contest that he had killed Wiest, but claimed that he had not planned it. The prosecution presented evidence that he had searched the Internet before the murder on how to fire a weapon properly in a successful effort to argue that it was premeditated. Wiest had ended their relationship the evening she was murdered. The jury’s decision took 45 minutes, according to Steele.

In Pennsylvania, First-Degree Murder has a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
