Mid-month Coronavirus report for the local area

Since our last update on October 6th, Montgomery County officials report that there were 45 new cases of Coronavirus on October 7th, 47 on October 8th, 56 on October 9th, 62 on October 10th, 43 on October 11th, 28 on October 12th, 52 on October 13th, 46 on October 14th, and 49 on October 15th. This brings the countywide total since the start of the pandemic to 12,694.

Since October 1st, there have been four deaths due to Coronavirus reported. There was one on October 5th, two on October 6th, and one on October 13th. There were a total of six deaths in September, one less than the seven reported in August. There were 21 deaths in July, and 106 in June. The four deaths in October brings the total number of deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic to 837.

The 14-day PCR positivity rate remains low in Montgomery County. As of October 9th it is 2.29%. It has been under 3% since mid September. Having this number before 5% is considered having the virus under control.

The most recent 14-day average of the number of cases is 135 more than the 14-days prior. The most recent seven-day average is 43 more than the previous seven days.

Locally, here are the current numbers:

  • Conshohocken is at 85 cases, which is 17 more than since October 6th. There have been no deaths.
  • West Conshohocken is at 12 cases, which unchanged since October 6th. There have been no deaths
  • Plymouth Township is at 242 cases, which is eight more cases more than since October 6th. There have been seven deaths.
  • Whitemarsh Township is at 271 cases, which is 21 more than since October 6th. There have been 23 deaths.
