Mod India Lafayette Hill is proud to announce the opening of its second location, bringing authentic Indian cuisine and a deeply personal story to the heart of the community.

The restaurant is owned by Sudha Joshi, whose journey to opening Mod India is rooted in love, family, and a promise made early in life. With over 20 years of experience in the corporate world, Sudha followed a dream she carried since childhood—to open a restaurant in honor of her grandfather.

Sudha’s grandfather once owned a small restaurant in India. After the passing of Sudha’s grandmother, when her father was just two years old, he became a single parent to two children. Faced with life’s hardships, he sold his restaurant and continued working in the same establishment to support his family. When Sudha learned this story, it deeply touched her heart. She promised her grandfather that one day she would open a restaurant for him—and she kept that promise.

In 2018, Sudha took a leap of faith and opened Mod India. Many of the recipes served today are inspired by her grandfather’s cooking, bringing generations of tradition and flavor to every plate. At Mod India, the goal is simple: to serve authentic Indian food made with care, tradition, and soul.

The newly opened Lafayette Hill location offers dine-in, takeout, and delivery through DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub. Guests are invited to experience this new local Indian restaurant and enjoy flavors passed down through generations.
