Montco commissioner nominated for 2 Emmys for short film about voter fraud

Montgomery County Commissioner Neil Makhija and a team of artists have been nominated for two News and Documentary Emmy Awards for their short film, “You’re Being Lied To About Voter Fraud. Here’s the Truth,” which was published by the New York Times in October.

The film has been nominated for outstanding graphic design in the news category and outstanding art direction/set direction/scenic design in the documentary category. The six-minute video features watercolor illustrations and Makhija’s narration about election misinformation. Makhija and Jordan Wood served as executive producers.

“We made this short film during the last presidential election to cut through the noise and bring clarity to one of the most persistent myths about our democracy,” Makhija said in an Instagram post.
