Montgomery County eases mask requirements while playing outdoor sports and exercising

Montgomery County Office of Public Health has revised one of its requirements involving wearing a mask. Effective Friday, May 14th, people in the county will no longer be required to wear a mask/face covering while participating in high exertion activities outdoors, i.e. playing sports or exercising.

However this doesn’t change the existing guidelines regarding masking when individuals cannot maintain a sustained physical distance of at least six feet from others outside of their household, when on the sidelines, when outdoors with a mixture of vaccinated and unvaccinated people, and when attending crowded outdoor activities. Indoor masking guidance remains unchanged.
