Montgomery County releases seven days worth of Coronavirus data

Montgomery County officials held a press conference today and reported that there had been 231 new cases of Coronavirus from July 2nd through July 8th, with 25 cases tied to a longterm care facility. This brings the countywide total from the start of the pandemic to 8,626. Note that the daily case totals can be found in the chart below.

Also reported was an additional four deaths confirmed from Coronavirus. This brings the total number of confirmed deaths to 804. Officials did not offer data on probable deaths or the total number of confirmed deaths connected to longterm care facilities.

The county did offer data on hospitalizations. County hospitals report that there are currently 69 patients due to Coronavirus and 10 (or 14%) require a ventilator.

The county issued a statement on July 7th that announced that it had “data reporting issues” from July 1st through July 7th. This was clarified today and the issue involved duplicate records for cases. The numbers in this article reflected the cleaned data.
