The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame recently announced its 2025 inductees, including one inductee with ties to Conshohocken. Chubby Checker, known most notably for his early 1960s hit “The Twist,” will be inducted under the performer category.
What is the connection to Conshohocken? Checker lives in Paoli and has an office that handles his business interests in Conshohocken along the 300 block of Fayette Street. Our research finds that this office has existed at this location for approximately 20 years.
We haven’t heard of many sightings of Checker in Conshy, but Butch Coll of Coll’s Custom Framing and ConshyStuff spotted him in the Deli on 4th in 2019. While Checker was in the deli, his song, “The Twist,” was playing over the speakers. You can watch the video here.
