News & Gossip

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade was held this past Saturday and it was packed.  Thank you to everyone who wore their ‘Kiss Me I’m from Conshy/West Conshy” t-shits.  It was great seeing them all over the streets of Conshy and in the parade.

Speaking of the t-shirts, you can still order Conshy or West Conshy versions by clicking here.

8 East came in 2nd at the AOH 6th Annual Irish Coffee Contest.

Pepperoncini’s second location in Phoenixville is going to open soon.

The new sister restaurant to Blackfish, Mica Restaurant in Chestnut Hill, is set to open Friday.

During and after the St. Patrick’s Day I met a handful of candidates running for Borough Council.  Running in the 1st Ward will be Chris Savage (R) vs. Raj Gupta (D).  In the 3rd Ward, Kindra Helderle is challenging incumbent, and Borough Council President, Paul Mc’Connell.  In the 5th Ward, Bob O’Neill (R) is running against Matt Ryan (D).  As you may have noticed, there will be minimally two new members of Borough Council due to two open seats resulting from Jason Salus (D) not running again in the 1st to focus on a run for Montgomery County Treasurer and Anthony Tucci (D) choosing to not run again in the 5th.  There is one race that is unopposed with the Republicans failing to challenge Eddie Phipps (D) in the 7th Ward.  This website plans on holding a Meet the Candidates Night in the fall, along with PlymouthWhitemarsh.com and the Whitemarsh Business Association inviting candidates from those two townships.  Those running in countywide races will also be invited.  This will be your chance to meet all the candidates.  Stay tuned for details.

So the word on the street is that there is a young lady with a successful boutique in West Chester looking to opening a second boutique. She is deciding between Wayne and Conshy.

A cheesesteak place is rumored to be going in where On A Roll was located.

M Bar has gone through an ownership change.  Patrick Boyle has bought the bar.

A major management change has taken place at Isabella.  Peter Disson was brought in to operate the restaurant by owner Tom Richter, but I was told that Disson was recently let go.  Isabella is also for sale.  What is really interesting in that Disson told me prior to Isabella’s opening that it was planned for him to open a diner at the property that was 401 Diner, which Richter also owns.  I was also told by a manager at a nearby diner that one of his friends looked at the 401 Diner spot to consider opening a new diner there.
