ABC News, the national office not your local Jim Gardner Channel 6, was in Conshy on July 3rd to do a story about local communities fundraising to continue having fireworks. For the past two years, the Borough of Conshohocken has decided against funding the fireworks and local resident Liam McGuigan has led the effort to raise $20,000 to have the show. Why was there an intermission during the fireworks? It seems that some hot embers were falling into the crowd and the decision was made to have everyone stand at a further distance and continue the show. There were some minor burns treated on-site and a fire started and was quickly put out.
