West Conshohocken’s Keystone Foods has been sold to a company in Brazil.  Keystone Foods sells tons of products to McDonalds, including the delicious Chicken McNugget.  They were the first company to mass produce boneless chicken nuggets.  Here is a second story naming Keystone’s Herb Lotman Philly’s newest billionaire.

Bike Freedom Valley 2010 is coming through Conshohocken on June 20th.  The Outbound Station, the coffee shop at the R6 Station along the trail, is one of the designated stopping points for the ride.

I have mentioned all of these individually before, but in the coming months Conshohocken will be home to a few new restaurants.  There will be El Limon on Fayette Street, someone is going into the old Philly Blew on Elm, Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches will open at the corner of 1st and Fayette and Five Guys is going in the spot where Blockbuster was on Ridge and Butler.  Keystone Pizza is also about to open on Ford Street in West Conshohocken.

Kennedy-Kendrick, the local Catholic high school closes its doors.  Students will now have to commute out to Royersford to attend the brand new Pope John Paul II.

Conshohocken Borough is considering making some changes to parking on certain streets.  The plan is here.  They are holding several forums to discuss.  They had one last week and the next one is June 16th at 6:00 p.m. at Borough Hall (720 Fayette Street).

PECO has chosen four Montgomery County municipalities to receive $30,000 in grant funding from PECO. This is part of $150,000 in grant funding as part of 2010 PECO Green Region, the company’s municipal open space grant program.  Conshohocken Borough received a $10,000 grant for improvements to Mary Wood Park. The improvements include rain gardens with signage, replacement of walkways with pervious pavers, light fixtures, benches, restoration of a stone wall, and landscaping.

“Conshy Rocks” is Conshohocken’s 2010 Outdoor Summer Concert Series outside at Totaro’s kicks off on June 19 with Jay D Clark. For full schedule and how to get tickets, click here.

On Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Londonbury at Millennium is having its Grande Opening Party.  There will be live music from Holt 45, free drinks, catering from Pepperoncini, the Philadelphia Fight’s Vixens dance team, WMMR, desserts from Totaro’s and an Edwards-Freeman gift bag.  It is free to attend and all are welcome.  You can RSVP here on Facebook.

The “Do it for Deb” Kick of Benefit will be Friday, June 25th at 8pm.  It will be held at the Valley Top room of the Great American Pub from 8pm-1am.  Tickets are 65.00 and include dinner, open bar, Dj/dancing, raffles, silent auction, etc.  It is truly a fun evening for all and a great chance to meet some amazing new people.  This event usually sells out!  Tickets can be purchased by going online at our website, mailing a check, or contacting Brian Pieri at The StoneRose.
