Over 100 pumpkins were painted by kids and their parents, and two single ladies, this past Saturday at Freeman’s Corner Fall Festival.  Sponsors for the event include, Edwards-Freeman Nut Company, Ryah Yoga, Totaro’s, Beanie Bounce Party Rental and Do Me A Flavor. As you may have heard, there is a proposed Super Wawa (rendering above) at the current location of the going out business EF Moore Chevrolet.  There is a group organizing to oppose it, which consists of about “30 Conshy businesses” and “100’s of residents” opposed to the “insane idea” of putting a “Wawa in a residential area with kids playing directly next to it.”   So dramatic!  Anyway, if you want to learn more about the proposed Super Wawa there is a meeting on Monday October 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Fellowship House.

Isabella opened last week at E. Elm and Cherry.  They had two parties, first for all the contractors and then a soft opening, and then opened on Friday night for regular business.  The opening has been picked up around the net, including and Thrillist.  You can also learn about the artwork featured on its walls.

It rained a lot last week and there was some minor flooding (as far as I know).

The StoneRose celebrated its first anniversary on Sunday.  The celebration include a cheeseburger cake (pictured above).

Congrats to Desirea Caucci of Conshohocken Physical Therapy for winning the Dorland Health’s People Award for Physical Therapy. Desirea was honored at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.  The Dorland Health People Awards program is for the individual practitioner, the daily care provider and the leaders who inspire, motivate and empower …professionals—by recognizing healthcare professionals who are making a difference in transitioning the patient through the complicated healthcare landscape.

Trattoria Totaro is having “Wild Game Night” on Thursday, October 7th.  There will be Buffalo Vegetable  Barley soup, Grilled Quail Pear Salad and Wild Boar Ragu, plus sampling of Grilled Wild Boar Rack, Alligator Tenderloin, Rabbit Cacciatore, Duck Foie Gras Sausage-served with sweet potato risotto and broccoli rabe.  Microbrewss will be paired with each course.  There is also a dessert sampler of Chocolate Cake, Cannolies, Biscotti, Pizzelles and more.  Coffee included.  $55.- pp.  Open seating.

The Colonial School District Fall Star Party will be held on Tuesday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the planetarium located in Colonial Middle School. The event begins with a short program about “What’s Up” in the sky. There will be celestial observations using the Colonial Observatory and telescopes provided by the Delaware Amateur Astronomers Association. If there is inclement weather, the Star Party will be an indoor only event. All ages are welcome.  More details here.

Karaoke seems to have taken off in Conshy.  2SistersEntertainment have had a long standing karaoke night at Carol’s (Fridays at 9:00 p.m.) and now Guppy’s has it every Wednesday night.

Free fitness assessments are being offered by Dr. Desirea D. Caucci, PT, DPT of Conshohocken Physical Therapy in on Friday, October 8 from 9:00 a.m. until 12 p.m., to celebrate National Physical Therapy Month. Participants must call and schedule an appointment (610-828-7595). She will evaluate participants’ blood pressure, strength, balance, body composition, flexibility, and posture.

The Young Friends of Cradles to Crayons are hosting a Happy Hour at Guppy’s Good Times in Conshohocken Saturday, October 16th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to learn more about C2C, meet other young professionals in the area and our new Conshy neighbors, and enjoy a few drinks. They will have a raffle including a pair of Eagles tickets generously donated by Jeremy Bowers and Mike Sroka. $30 at the door will cover all the beer and mixed drinks you can drink during the happy hour. Pepperoncini is hosting their third annual Columbus Day Party Pig Roast on October 10th. The event will be an all day open house starting at 2:00 p.m. and will include live music, including Frank Sinatra and The King of International Music, $3.50 Peroni’s, great wine specials, lasagna, chicken cacciatore, meatballs, hot sausage, brasciole and more.

Maloney’s Pub has set their Grand Opening for October 16th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will be an outside tailgate and will feature a beer truck, wood smoked BBQ, live music, tailgate games, beer pong, flip cup and anything else you like to do during a tailgate! Cosmas and Damian Church’s 100TH Anniversary Fund on Saturday, October 23rd from 5:30 – 7:30 P.M.  The price is $9.00 Adults (per plate) in advance and $10.00 Adults (per plate) at door.  $5.00 for children under 12 years of age (per plate).  Price includes fresh salad, rolls, coffee, tea and dessert.

Jack and Brian Coll are hosting a History Night to benefit the Conshohocken Free Library on October 15th. The evening will include cocktails, dinner and a history program and slide show. The event will be held at ASTM headquarters in West Conshohocken. Tickets are $45.00.
