Over 100 pumpkins were painted by kids and their parents, and two single ladies, this past Saturday at Freeman’s Corner Fall Festival. As you may have heard, there is a proposed Super Wawa (rendering above) at the current location of the going out business EF Moore Chevrolet. There is a group organizing to oppose it, which consists of about “30 Conshy businesses” and “100’s of residents” opposed to the “insane idea” of putting a “Wawa in a residential area with kids playing directly next to it.” So dramatic! Anyway, if you want to learn more about the proposed Super Wawa there is a meeting on Monday October 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Fellowship House.
Isabella opened last week at E. Elm and Cherry. They had two parties, first for all the contractors and then a soft opening, and then opened on Friday night for regular business. The opening has been picked up around the net, including Philly.com and Thrillist. You can also learn about the artwork featured on its walls.

It rained a lot last week and there was some minor flooding (as far as I know).
The StoneRose celebrated its first anniversary on Sunday. The celebration include a cheeseburger cake (pictured above).

Trattoria Totaro is having “Wild Game Night” on Thursday, October 7th. There will be Buffalo Vegetable Barley soup, Grilled Quail Pear Salad and Wild Boar Ragu, plus sampling of Grilled Wild Boar Rack, Alligator Tenderloin, Rabbit Cacciatore, Duck Foie Gras Sausage-served with sweet potato risotto and broccoli rabe. Microbrewss will be paired with each course. There is also a dessert sampler of Chocolate Cake, Cannolies, Biscotti, Pizzelles and more. Coffee included. $55.- pp. Open seating.
The Colonial School District Fall Star Party will be held on Tuesday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the planetarium located in Colonial Middle School. The event begins with a short program about “What’s Up” in the sky. There will be celestial observations using the Colonial Observatory and telescopes provided by the Delaware Amateur Astronomers Association. If there is inclement weather, the Star Party will be an indoor only event. All ages are welcome. More details here.
Karaoke seems to have taken off in Conshy. 2SistersEntertainment have had a long standing karaoke night at Carol’s (Fridays at 9:00 p.m.) and now Guppy’s has it every Wednesday night.
Free fitness assessments are being offered by Dr. Desirea D. Caucci, PT, DPT of Conshohocken Physical Therapy in on Friday, October 8 from 9:00 a.m. until 12 p.m., to celebrate National Physical Therapy Month. Participants must call and schedule an appointment (610-828-7595). She will evaluate participants’ blood pressure, strength, balance, body composition, flexibility, and posture.

The Young Friends of Cradles to Crayons are hosting a Happy Hour at Guppy’s Good Times in Conshohocken Saturday, October 16th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to learn more about C2C, meet other young professionals in the area and our new Conshy neighbors, and enjoy a few drinks.
