More than 50 people came out for Whitemarsh Boat Club‘s first-ever “Discover Rowing” day.  On a beautifully, warm fall day, they were able to put more than six boats on the water, each with an individual coach.  Whitmarsh Boat Club is the non-profit community rowing center at the Hines Rowing Center at 801 Washington Street.  The club currently has about 100 members and they offer lessons for both adult and junior members on an ongoing basis.  They are especially glad to welcome back to the sport individuals who rowed in high school or college. Those interested to find out more can contact them at whitemarshboatclub@gmail.com.  Special thanks to Mary Shaffer and The Outbound Station for providing coffee for the event.  Rumor is Mary got a chance to learn to row.
