PennDOT announced on May 3rd that the northbound lane of Plymouth Road in Plymouth Meeting will close on the evening of May 3rd between Butler Pike and Rittenhouse Square due to a sinkhole.
This area of Plymouth Road has experienced a recurring sinkhole that has previously closed the northbound lane. The last closure was on April 2nd.
During the closure, Plymouth Road motorists are directed to use Flourtown Road, Joshua Road, and Germantown Pike. Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Northbound Plymouth Road will remain closed until PennDOT engineers can further assess the extent of the damage and develop a plan to fully repair and safely reopen the highway.
