Age 94
Frank A. Ferraioli, 94, a lifelong resident of Conshohocken, died on April 2, 2020 at Einstein Montgomery Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Amadio) Ferraioli. He was born in Conshohocken, PA on July 22, 1925 to the late Angelo and Maria (Palumbo) Ferraioli.
He was a graduate of Conshohocken High School Class of 1943, and shortly after was drafted to serve our country during WWII. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps with rank of Staff Sergeant serving from 1943-1945. He was in the 15th Air Force, 454th Bomb Group–739th Bomb Squadron in San Giovanni Air Base, Cerignola, Italy. He was an Airplane Armorer-Gunner, Aerial Gunner and Assistant Flight Engineer. He was in 30 Sorties (49 missions) in campaigns in North Appennines, Po Valley, Rhineland, Central Europe, Air Combat Balkans. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal with 3 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon with 5 Bronze Stars, the Group Presidential Citation Medal, and Victory Medal.
After returning home from his service, Frank was employed as a Landscaper with Ferraioli and Panto Landscaping. He assisted in excavating the little league fields at Sutcliffe Park. He was a member of the former SS. Cosmas and Damian Church. He was an avid Phillies fan, and would attend their Spring Training every year. Frank is survived by his many nieces and nephews, and was pre-deceased by his brother Nicholas A. Ferraioli. Due to the social restrictions from the COVID-19 Pandemic, the funeral will be private. Since he was a proud American and veteran, memorial donations in Frank’s memory can be made to the Conshohocken VFW Post# 1074, 300 E. 5th Avenue, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
