Oysters and steaks coming to Fayette Street in Conshohocken

MoreThanTheCurve.com learned today that Fayette Street Oyster House & Grill is filling the space at 128 Fayette Street in Conshohocken that was most recently home to Tierra Caliente. The restaurant is from Peter Disson, who is the propertier of Pinefish at 12th and Pine in Philadelphia. Disson has some history in Conshohocken as he was a consultant for Isabella when it opened in Conshohocken in 2010.

Disson shared that the menu will be seafood-centric, much like that at Pinefish, but with the addition of USDA prime steaks. Seafood wise, expect everything from a happy hour with oyster specials and dinner featuring a two-to-three pound lobster. From the bar, a cocktail menu will include recipes created by Hop Sing Laundromat, plus beer and wine.

One dish mentioned by Disson is The Ocean, which is often shared by a couple or ordered as an appetizer for a larger party. It features a pound each of mussels and clams, three soft shell crabs, 1.5 pounds of snow crabs, 1.5 pounds of Dungeness crab legs, two ears of corn, and a choice of butters spiked with garlic, Old Bay or Cajun spices. There is also an option to add Alaskan king crab legs. In October, Disson was FOX29 and introduced the dish to the hosts (watch above).

The interior will stay much the same as it was as Tierra Caliente. It will remain 80 to 90 seats and there will be some cosmetic changes to give it a contemporary feel. Seating wil also be availabe outside.

If you are familiar with the building, upstairs is The Cigar Republic and the restaurant will be offering a menu to its members.

Disson is targeting April 1st for the opening. It will first open for dinner and then expand the hours in September.

Mike Spampinato of Entourage Elite represented the building owner in the transaction.
