PECO Work Along Spring Mill Avenue to Begin on April 6

The Borough of Conshohocken’s Facebook page shared a letter from PECO detailing the work it has planned for a portion of Spring Mill Avenue starting April 6th. It involves work in the roadway, sidewalks and private property. It may also need to shut off gas service. For all the details read the letter below:

Dear PECO Customer:

At PECO, we put our energy into providing you with safe and reliable electric and natural gas service. As part of our commitment, we are working to improve natural gas service in your neighborhood by upgrading natural gas equipment. This work includes replacing existing natural gas main and/or service lines with new plastic pipe, which enhances safety, is more durable and improves service reliability.

If you are not currently using natural gas and are interested in learning more about the conversion process, please call 215-768-7144.

You may recall previous information regarding this project, which was rescheduled from last year. Work is expected to begin April 6, 2015 in the vicinity of Spring Mill Ave from 4th Street to Sandy Street from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. This work may occur in roadways as well as on sidewalks and potentially on your property.

To ensure community safety and the safety of our crews, we may need to temporarily shut off natural gas service for a short period – approximately eight hours or less – during this time.

During this work we also will be relocating any indoor natural gas meters to the exterior of customer homes. If our meter is located inside your home, you will need to provide access so that this work can be completed.

Permanent ground restoration work will begin within 60 days of the completion of construction work, weather permitting. The impacted areas of your property will be repaired and the streets will be repaved. All areas will be restored to their original condition.

We will work to minimize the impact this project will have on you and your neighbors. And, we will schedule a convenient time to access your home, if needed.

This work will be performed by CONTRACTOR COMPANY, contractor for PECO. If you have any questions regarding this project and for scheduling purposes, please contact Joe Sharkey of Henkels & McCoy at 215-768-7144.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we complete these improvements.

Sincerely,

PECO Gas Operations
