Planning Commission Meeting Tonight Regarding Proposed Townhomes at Butler and Germantown Pikes

There is a Planning Commission Meeting tonight (Tuesday, February 13th) in Whitemarsh Township involving the proposal to build almost 70 townhomes adjacent to Abolition Hall near the corner of Butler and Germantown Pikes. You can view the agenda here.

There is a community group that has been active in speaking out against the impact of the proposed development on existing historic buildings and the community in general. Those issues are traffic, preserving history, open space and storm water management.

The Planning Commission’s role is to make a recommendation to Whitemarsh’s Board of Supervisors. This recommendation is non-binding.

The meeting will be held at the Whitemarsh Township building at  616 Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill.
