Plymouth police make an arrest in storage facility burglaries. Ask public to check their units at two facilities in Plymouth Meeting

The Plymouth Township Police Department announced on November 15th the arrest of Kyle Lee Grater on August 30th in connection to a series of burglaries involving two locations of Extra Space Storage (100 Lee Drive and 1098 Belvoir Road) in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township). Grater was charged with burglary and related offenses.

According to police, the investigation found that Grater gained access to storage lockers, and a “large amount” of the stolen items was discovered in a storage unit rented by Grater.

Police believe evidence suggests that Grater may have been involved in thefts from the facilities since the beginning of 2021. Since many people do not check storage units regularly, police are asking that anyone with storage units at either Extra Space Storage location check their units for signs of theft. If property is believed missing, you are asked to contact Detective Mark Ransom at MRansom@plymouthtownship.org.
