On May 15th, the Colonial School District announced that its district art show at Colonial Middle School had been postponed due to an incident involving police on a nearby property. Police and emergency vehicles had gathered on Maplewood Drive, which is a cul-de-sac adjacent to the school.
According to police, officers responded to the the 400 block of Maplewood Drive on May 15th at 3:53 p.m. after it received a report of an armed emotionally disturbed man. Police report that they have significant history with the man who has been the subject of more than 150 incident reports since August 2022. When police received the initial complaint, there were two active criminal arrest warrants in Plymouth and West Norriton townships.
Once on the scene on May 15th, police unsuccessfully attempted to have the man and his wife voluntarily leave the home. Approximately four hours after police arrived at the scene, police entered the home with search and arrest warrants and were able to take the man into custody. He was found hiding in the basement.
The man was taken to a medical and mental health facility for evaluation. Criminal charges are pending the investigation.

Association and the Harmonville Fire Company.
