The Plymouth Township Police Department announced on August 26th the arrest of a man two days prior for an alleged daytime burglary that took place while a family was inside the home.

Plymouth officers responded to a home along the 2900 block of Arch Road at 1:45 p.m. in Plymouth Meeting following a report of a burglary in progress. According to the owner of the home, a man was banging on a side door and was eventually able to enter the kitchen. The homeowner locked herself and her children in a second-floor bathroom to wait for the police to arrive.

When police arrived at the home, they took into custody 61-year-old Juan Medina of Philadelphia without incident. Police offered that Medina was found in posssession of items from a nearby home.

Medina was charged with two felonies, Burglary and Criminal Trespass, along with four associated misdemeanors. Bail was set at $50,000 cash. Medina could not post bail and is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for September 8th before Magisterial District Judge Jodi Griffis.

An arrest is not a conviction. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
